TESOL
The certificate in Teaching 英语 to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) prepares students who desire to teach 英语 to non-native 英语 speakers. Students explore the fields of education, linguistics, 英语, and world languages to better understand how languages work and how to effectively teach a foreign or second language.
项目概述
The TESOL certificate is designed for students who have an interest in teaching the 英语 language to learners from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Students who study TESOL are often interested in missions or outreach to diverse populations in their communities. Completion of the TESOL certificate will include studies in linguistics, applied linguistics, and second language acquisition. The final course students take when completing the TESOL certificate is a Practicum course in which the students gain experience teaching 英语 to others. Past practicums have been completed with ELIC, the Chattanooga Public 图书馆, New City Fellowship, and Neigh'tions.
