Some of us know from a young age the career path we want to take, and for others, it's a discovery when they least expect it.

Kyle Delk ’18 grew up in Orlando at a PCA church w在这里 the youth group went to summer camp at 威尼斯人平台 every year. After hearing so much about the camp from his siblings and other church members, it was finally Kyle’s turn to go. He spent four years on Covenant’s campus as a camper, so when the time came to attend college, Covenant seemed like the natural choice. “I really felt like I knew the campus, the Great Hall, the chapel…when it was time to make a decision, the fact that I was comfortable with the campus and the community, I thought ‘why not?’”

凯尔在圣威尼斯人平台一年级的时候还没有决定要选什么专业。 He had an entrepreneurial spirit but beyond that, did not know what he wanted to do. He settled into an interdisciplinary (IDS) major, focusing on business, economics, and sports administration—which would later prove to be just what he needed for God’s calling on his life.

During his sophomore year in college, Kyle picked up an old Canon camera for the first time, and the rest, they say, is history.

That summer, he interned at a church in Greenville, South Carolina on their video team w在这里 he learned videography. 的n during his junior year, as an R.A. he made videos for his hall and dorm. He also worked on the Blue Crew, w在这里 he dove more into videography as they videoed games and recaps of athletic events. 的y also created ads for events by mimicking ESPN’s SportsCenter. He enjoyed his work on the Blue Crew, especially being creative and thinking outside the box for ways to generate excitement for athletic events on campus. Each of these experiences reinforced his love of video production. In his senior year, he interned with Round Tree w在这里 he continued to learn about video production and gained more experience in creating social media ads and campaigns.

Not long after graduating, Kyle started his own production company, Griffin Road Media, which assists companies with brand growth. 的y specialize in helping businesses with brand story, advertising, documentaries, and raising capital. Since then, he’s filmed for Chick-Fil-A corporate, SCC Football and Baseball championships, an NBC documentary about Augusta National, and Golf Digest. Kyle has also done photography and videography for Covenant’s 回家coming the past few years. (See the 回家coming 2024 video 在这里.)

Kyle credits his business and marketing classes with preparing him well for being an entrepreneur, particularly those with Dr. Quatro and Dr. Matos-Wood. He says t在这里 is one concept he learned in class that he asks himself every day—the question of “opportunity costs.” “什么是值得一个人花时间去追求的?” Kyle says that for entrepreneurs, it’s easy to undervalue one’s time and it’s important to calculate the cost when deciding whether to take on a particular job or project.

As a believer working in video production, he finds himself working with clients who share his faith and those who do not. No matter who he is working with, he believes it is important to “do the job well and do it efficiently” and to “treat clients as image bearers.” 这样,他就活出了他的大“C”和小“C”的使命。

Kyle and his wife, 杰西卡·德尔克18岁, have two young children and live in the Chattanooga area. To learn more about Griffin Road Media, visit their website 在这里.
